RECENT WORK

Platform Minimalisim – Generali Tower, Milan

Much like the geometric squares of Stella’s famous minimalistic black series, our group placed a simple square in the center of Zaha Hadids’ curvy tower. With strong lines which serve to define and divide the use of the space with an austere yet decisive form that is simple, proportionate, and clean. Designed with “platform minimalism” in mind, the intended goal was to convert this office space into a co-housing unit informed by minimalism.

POP UP EXHIBITION – DIGITAL TEA HOUSE, SINGAPORE

A traditional Japanese tea house in an urban jungle This bright techno tea house revisits traditional Japanese tea house culture with a modern techno twist. An elevated, digitallly inspired design, the tea house can be placed in a city center, beckoning guests with bright futuristic imagery, using fashion styled geisha’s as the root of the the outdoor design. Once inside, the guest is transported into a dreamlike world thanks to modern LED screens and an interplay with, light, glass and natural custom elements such as wood.

TRACING THE PAST – LUXURY FURNITURE & LIGHTING DESIGN

A project firmly rooted in the past this line of furniture and lighting design is founded in ancient Etruscan patterns found on frescos, mosaics, and various structures from the time. A mysterious culture that thrived in the Tuscan region before Christ, the project explores the ancient art in a new modern setting while playing homage to it’s historical roots both in Italy and in the world.

COMPETITION FINALIST,  ITALY – Poltrona Specturum

Selected as finalist for Coca Center of Contemporary Artists Design Competition I explored the design of a chair using basic geometric shapes and forms until I landed on a shape that was both ergonomic and celebrated smooth lines. A lounge by nature the chair provides the perfect outdoor seating for public spaces. Created in acrylic (or wood) the chair provides seating for one to three people, provides a fun surface for antsy children and can be adorned in any color combination both translucent and finished.

A VIDEO SHORT – THE WALK

Does the man walk the dog or does the dog walk the man? This project certainly does not answer that question. But, I would gamble — the dog truly walks the man.

The Half-Spaces project outlines a simple walk from the vantage point of a man and his best friend, a little dog. The idea of the video is to highlight the dog’s point of view as he walks, runs, and interacts with the world around him as compared to his loving owner. While their point-of-view is quite different, one eye level with the grass and the other towering above. The video highlights the size and scope of the human and the dog along with the way they may use the grass or the surrounding environment.

HOUSING POP-UP

APPLYING THE EAMES PHILOSOPHY IN SOCIAL DESIGN
Can we create an affordable and rapidly deployable solution to provide immediate transitory housing for America’s homeless under the Housing First model while revitalizing the abandonded big box stores?

A concept for social rich opportunities in abandoned shopping centers, my 2022 thesis attempts to address these two unique issues utilizing the Eames philosophy in design including affordability and off the shelf solutions for implementation.
